The city has launched a new online survey to gather views on how people would use the new road, how often, and how the extension should be designed to best protect the parallel Okanagan Rail Trail recreation corridor.
Preliminary design work for the long-sought extension is underway, but there is no current timetable for the road’s actual construction.
Design work includes such things as determining the number of vehicle lanes, the exact road and trail alignment, and whether intersections will have traffic lights or consist of roundabouts.
The Clement Avenue extension will create a fourth major east-west route through ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, to go with Highway 97, Springfield Road, and Enterprise Way. Eventually, it will extend to McCurdy Road.
