The flow of Mission Creek in ѻý has more than doubled since last Friday.
On Monday morning, the Okanagan Lake's main tributary was flowing at 25 cubic metres per second, compared to less than 10 cubic metres per second on May 10.
The surging flow has forced the closure of the Casorso Road bridge underpass along the popular Mission Creek Greenway hiking and biking trail.
Greenway users are asked to observe the barricades and cross Casorso at grade rather than continuing on the path under the bridge.
“People are reminded that during spring runoff water levels in many creeks may rise unexpectedly and they, children, and pets should stay safely back from reek banks, which may be slippery or subject to erosion,” states a release from the regional district.
