On Saturday, Dec. 14 during the Salvation Army Okanagan Centralѻý Christmas Kettle Campaign, Scotiabank employees from around ѻý volunteered at three ѻý Kettle locations.

During that time, through its Scotia Team Community Program, Scotiabank matched all donations up to $15,000.

“One of our values as a bank is to make our community a better place to live and work” said Arvind Sharma, from Scotia Wealth Management, “our annual Scotiabank Match Day is one way that our team can give back and show we care.”

The goal of the Scotiabank Match Day is to raise critical funds for the Salvation Army during a time of the year where demand on the organization is high.

Throughout that day, $28,300 was raised at the three kettle locations being hosted by Scotiabank employees. With matching donations, a total $43,300 was raised in that one day of fundraising.

“Scotiabank has partnered with us since 2011” said Captain Jennifer Henson. “We are grateful to Scotiabank, its staff for their generous support of our work, and our amazing community. These funds will continue to provide hope to those who face significant challenges in our community.”
