Adam Zelenka from ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ was the overall winner in the Blossom Eight-Miler held MotherÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ Day weekend in Penticton.
Zelenka was best in the field with a time of 47 minutes, 50 seconds in the scenic 12.87-km run.
Aaron Sadlier of Penticton was second overall and the top local just seconds behind in 48:11. David Guss from ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ was third in 50:25. Rounding out the top 10 were Martin Kratky (Westwold), 50:36, Alexi Garib (Penticton), 51:04, Colin Christmas (Penticton), 51:25, Joshua Wyatt (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½), 51:51, Flo Goetz (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½), 52:11, Sergio Pio (Penticton), 53:06 and Nikola Ciric (Penticton), 53:07.
Samantha Labun from West ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ was top female finishing 20th overall in 57:28.
Daniell Shand from ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ was a distant second in 59:44 while Deborah Buhlers, also from ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, was third in 1:00.51.
Rounding out the top 10 females were Jessica Loucks (Squamish), 1:01.14, Amanda Celli (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½), 1:01.55, Hilary Ward (Penticton), 1:02.28, Priscilla DeSouza (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½), 1:02.43, Cadence Quigley (ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½), 1:03.36, Bria Shannon (Squamish), 1:03.52, Jennifer Jakobi (Vernon), 1:04.12.
When ages and final times were graded, Diane Leonard of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½, competing in the over 80 division, had an adjusted time of 1:17.16. Laurelee Nelson from ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ and Lynda Proce of Coldstream, both in the age 70-74 category, were next in 1:11.08 and 1:14.44 respectively.
For men, Guss, competing in the 65-69 age bracket, was tops in 50:25, Pio in the 60-64 category second in 53:06 and Roly Muller of ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ third. Muller, in the age 70-74 bracket, had an adjusted time of 50.25.
A total of 67 men and 74 women participated.
Next in the series is the Blackwell Dairy 15-km race on Monday in Kamloops. Closer to home, the Conquer the Lake Half Marathon in Lake Country is on June 8.
